Originally started in 1972, the present owners Peter and Francois Raymer relocated the restaurant to its present site in November 1999. PE has beautiful beaches. In the Humewood area, you will find Kings Beach, Humewood Beach and Hobie Beach. West of the city is Sardinia Bay. Here you can walk your dog, go horse-riding or hike in the reserve around the bay. |
Addo Elephant National Park is only about 70km from PE, and the new gate only 40km. It is a great Park, which borders have recently been expanded. It is not only elephants you will find, but also lion, buffalo, leopard, rhino, many different antelope etc. If you don't have the opportunity to stay overnight, do at least a daytrip to this wonderful park. Directions: Take the N2 (Grahamstown), at Colchester, you will see the signs for Addo Elephant Park, turn left and then right as indicated. This is the new gate, and easier accessible. |
